Please contact Diablo Analytical for more information. Software Support: ----------------- Diablo Analytical has implemented a web-based help desk for application and software support. For more information, please visit the support page of our web site: http://www.diabloanalytical.com/support.htm Version History: ---------------- [-] = Bug fix or change in behavior [+] = Enhancement Version 3.0.23 ------------------ [+] Added a new "History" panel that provides historical trend plotting of the monitored parameters. [+] The numeric values displayed in the monitor panel are now rounded to the number of decimal places specified in the "Data File Output Options" section of the configuration editor. [+] Added {ExportFile}, {ExportDirectory}, and {ExportTemplate} as export variables. [+] Added a "View Release Notes" option to the "help" menu. [+] Updated the reference manual and help file. [-] The Manual Entry dialog box was modified so that "Sample Info" and "Component Amounts" are on separate tabs. The "Component Amounts" tab is only displayed if there are component values/data in the component table. [-] Changed the tab captions on the main program window to be more specific. In addition, changed the caption of the "Monitoring" tab to "Parameters". [-] Modifed the Monitored Parameters options dialog box, so that the order of setting the options is more logical. [-] Adjusted "accelerator" keys on menus and forms. [-] IMPORTANT: The ProcessEZChromData prorgram that is used to pass results from EZChrom tp the BTU Calculator now deletes ALL ".ESD" and ".SPL" files from the EZChrom export directory. This prevents problems where previously-existing, unprocessed EZChrom export files in the directory would be processed instead of the current export file(s). Version 2.1.22 (Interim Release) --------------------------------- [+] Added a new monitoring panel to the main BTU Calculator window. The user can set up important parameters to display/monitor in this panel and set low and high alarms for those parameters. An additional tab was also added to the configuration editor to allow the monitored parameters to be configured. [+] Updated the help file and reference manual [-] Fixed problem with component numbers in the component table of the configuration table when adding or deleting components. [-] Changed software name to "Diablo BTU Calculator and Reporting Software" in order to emphasize the increased reporitng capabilities. Version 2.1.21 (Interim Release) -------------------------------- [+] Added an option to disable the BTU Calculations and Reporting so that the software can be used for more general reporting and data export. In this mode the raw concentration results are reported rather than the normalized results. Version 2.0.20 ------------------ [+] Added support for physical properties from the GPA 2145-09 Standard. [+] Added the "GPA 2145-09 Migration Guide" manual and help file. [+] Updated the "default.cfg" and "hexanes plus.cfg" default configuration files to use the GPA 2145-09 physical properties (except for hydrogen and argon, which still use constants from GPA 2172-96). [+] Updated the distribution configuration files to include "GPA 2145-09.cfg", and "GPA 2145-09 Wet.cfg", which contain the GPA 2145-09 component list and physical properties. [+] Updated the "GPA 2145-03.cfg" and "GPA 2145-03 Wet.cfg" configuration files to include the volume factors. [-] Installer will now update all default configuration files to their current versions. [+] The standard components physical properties table now allows different data sources to be loaded. The data sources include GPA 2145-03, GPA 2145-09 and the "extended" list of physical properties in the GPSA Engineering Data Book, 12th Edition. [+] The standard components physical properties table transfer feature now prompts you when it finds no matching component name in the components list allowing you to either 1) append as a new component to the list, or 2) copy the constants to an existing component in the list. [-] Changed menu and dialog box captions refering to "Settings" to "Configuration" for consistency. [+] Added a "Help" button to the standard components dialog box and the export template variables dialog box. [-] Double-clicking on a cell in the standard components physical properties table now properly copies the value to the clipboard. [+] Included an Excel worksheet to help calculate Hexanes+ physical constants using either GPA 2145-03 or GPA 2145-09 physical property constants. The worksheet file is 'Hexanes Plus Factors.xls' and is located in the BTU Caluclator installation directory. [+] Updated help file and reference manual. Version 2.0.19 ------------------ [-] Raw component mole percent values that are < 0 are now set to 0 prior to normalization. This addresses an issue where Cerity passes negative mole% values through the automation DLL even though it reports those values as "0" in its own reports. [+] The export variable summary list was updated to include examples of component-specific variables: {CompName,1}. [+] Both the DiabloBtu and ProcessEZChromData applications no longer require elevated/administrator privilege to run. This eliminates the "UAC" prompt under Windows Vista. Note: installing and uninstalling the software still requires administrator privilege. [+] The application and installer files are now digitally signed. [+] The reference manual and help file were updated. [+] The license recovery utility was updated and enhanced. Version 2.0.18 ------------------ [-] Changed from using "Sample Amount" mapping to "Internal Standard Amount" mapping. EZChrom uses the sample amount in the ESTD calculations, so the sample amount cannot be used for this purpose. Important: EZChrom also will switch the ISTD Amount from 0 or blank to 1 in the sequence table. Enter a very small non-zero number for 0 (for example 0.000001). This feature will likely be replaced in subsequent versions of the software by a more reliable approach. [-] Fixed a problem where the sample amount component name was not being saved correctly if the "Other Factors" tab was not accessed in the configuration editor. [-] Component fractional heating values in the report table and data/export files are now corrected for the pressure base. Previously they were reported at the "standard" pressure base of 14.696 psia. [+] Updated help file and manual. Version 2.0.17 ------------------ [-] Fixed a problem with source data file naming. [+] A default value can be specified for each of the custom sample information fields. If a previous value for a field exists, it will override the default value if the "Recall" option is set for that field. Version 2.0.16 ------------------ [+] Added an option to allow the last value to be recalled into the custom sample information fields. This option can be set individually for each field. [+] The BTU data file can now be named based on the source data file name from the data system. IMPORTANT: this feature is currently only available with the Agilent EZChrom data system (Cerity does not create data files). [+] The export file can now be named based on the sample name. This allows results from replicate runs of the same sample to be added appended to the same export file even though the data file names are different. [+] Added {SUMGPM}, {TOTALNORMMOLEPCT}, {SOURCEDATAFILENAME}, and {SOURCEDATAFILEPATH} export variables. [+] Added the ability to map the Sample Amount from a Cerity or EZChrom analysis to the raw mole% of one of the components. This allows the use to enter a result from another analyzer (e.g. H2S from a Draeger tube) into the sequence, and have it automatically apply without requiring reprocessing or prompting. Note, the sample amount is only applied to the designated component raw mole% during automatic processing from EZChrom or Cerity. [+] The print settings function has been updated to include the new configuration settings. [+] Updated the reference manual and help file. [-] Miscellaneous fixes to the component table in the configuration editor. Version 2.0.15 ------------------ [+] Added a license recovery utility to assist when the main license file is corrupted. This utility should only be run at the direction of Diablo support. [+] Added option to convert the BTU report to a PDF file: File > Print > Report > Save as PDF... [-] Removed "(min)" from the retention time caption on the component summary table since RTs can be either minutes or seconds. [+] The installer will now backup all settings (cfg) files to the "Backup" directory when performaing an upgrade installation. Version 2.0.14 ------------------ [+] Removed the requirement for separate program versions to support Cerity A.04.05 and A.04.07. The A.04.07 DLL supports both A.04.05 and A.04.07. [+] Added missing DLL (ccrptmr6) to installation [-] Fixed type mismatch error that would occur when saving a configuration in which sample info fields had been added to the configuration. Version 2.0.13 ------------------ [+] Changed to Windows Installer based installation system for Vista support. [+] UAC Manifest added to program header for Vista support. [+] VB6 runtimes updated to SP6 (install may require a reboot) [+] Previous versions of the software will be uninstalled automatically. Version 2.0.12 ------------------ [+] You can now add components and their calculation constants to the component list by selecting from a table of standard components and constants (based on GPA Standard 2145-03). [+] Component and Total GPM (Gallons per 1000 Cu. Ft.) is now calculated and reported. A new column has been added to the component table in the configuration editor to enter the GPM Volume Factor (Cu.Ft. / Gal). [+] The user can now specify the number of custom sample information fields (1-10) required. In addition, fields can now be specified as numeric. [+] Data export has been enhanced to allow custom numeric, string, and date formatting to be applied to variables. In addition, a scaling factor can be applied to numeric variables. The new format of export variables is: {VariableName, [PARAMETER], [FORMAT], [FACTOR]} See the help file/manual for more information on this feature. [+] The Source Data File is now included in the report header and data file if it is avaliable. This parameter is currently only utilized with EZChrom Elite/SI at this time. [+] Added a new "hexanes plus" configuration file that includes the hexanes+ component instead of hexane, heptane, and octane. The factors for hexanes plus were calculated assuming a 60:30:10 mixture of Hexane, Heptane, and octane. [+] The rows in the Sample Information Table of the configuration editor can now be reordered in the same manner as the component table. See the help file or user manual for the procedure. [+] A desktop shortcut is now created automatically when the software is installed. [+] The default configuration file (default.cfg) was updated to include the Volume Factors for the calculation of component GPM value. [+] Numeric values displayed in the report can now be rounded to the number of decimal places specified in the "Data File Output Options" section of the configuration editor. [-] Raw mole percent values are saved to the data file without rounding. Previously these values were rounded to the same number of decimal places as other calculated numeric values. This change was made to preserve the original raw data values. [-] Fixed a problem in which the total normalized mole% value displayed in the report was not being corrected properly when rounding. [-] If a sample information/header field is blank, it will not be displayed on the report. [-] The "Save" button in the configuration editor now closes the editor window after saving the configuration. However, the "Save As" button retains the previous behavior of keeping the window open. [-] Fixed problem with compatibility between the ProcessEZChromData application and the BTU Calculator software in Release Candidate. Version 2.0.11 ------------------ [-] Modified the license activation code to allow activation after a change in the local system fingerprint is detected. [-] Changed license fingerprint configuration. 11-8-2006 2.0.10 -The printer dialog box is no longer displayed when printing automatically processed results. -Fixed problem with compatibility between the evaluation version of BTUCalc, and the EZChrom helper application, ProcessEZChromData. -Data system support section of the installer modified to allow selection of EZChrom support to be made separately from the version of Cerity supported. 11-7-2006 2.0.9 +Added a new, highly-customizable data export option. The user can create simple Export Template files to set the format of the export text file. See the user manual for more information on how to configure this option. +Added support for processing data from the Agilent Technologies EZChrom Elite and EZChrom SI data systems. The new "helper application", ProcessEZChromData must be specified as the "after export" user program in the EZChrom advanced method setup. See the user manual for more information on how to configure this option. +Added an option to the data file naming configuration to allow the sample name to be added before the date/time-based file name (e.g. Sample Name-20061107-095600.btu) or after (e.g. 20061107-095600-Sample Name.btu). -The format of the automatically-generated date/time based data file names has been changed from "MMDDYYYY-HHMMSS.BTU" to "YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS.BTU". This change was made so that the file names will always sort in date/time order when browsing the files in Windows Explorer or other file browsers. -Licensing updated for major version upgrade. Existing licensed users will have to request a new activation code. -The separate installers for the two versions of the Agilent Cerity data system were combined into a single installer and support for EZChrom as a data source was added. -The default number of decimal places to report for calculated results in data files and export files was changed from 15 to 4 decimal places. This setting can be changed in the Data File section of the configuration editor. -A print dialog box is now displayed when printing a report or the current settings to allow the user to select a different printer, etc. -Updated the help file and user manual. 9-13-2006 1.0.8 -Normalized mole% rounding correction has been changed to apply to the most concentrated component rather than the last component detected in the component list 9-11-2006 1.0.7 +Added a separate "Save Data Set As..." menu option +Added a separate "Save As" button to the configuration dialog box. +Added the ability to add up to 4 custom sample information text fields to the report and data file. The fields captions can be set by the user in the new "Sample Info" tab of the configuration editor. -You can now edit the sample information fields of data files that were automatically processed from Cerity. -Distributed new licensing component 8-16-2006 1.0.6 -Characters in the sample name that are invalid in file names are now replaced with a "_" when the sample name is added to automatically-saved file names. -Updated menu component to latest version. -The normalized mole percent values are rounded to the number of decimal places specified in the Data File Output Options setting. If rounding causes the total normalized mole% not to sum to 100%, then a correction is made to the normalized mole% of the "heaviest" component in the sample to force the total to 100%. IMPORTANT: It is assumed that the last component that is detected in the component list is the "heaviest" for purposes of this rounding correction. 6-13-2006 1.0.5 -Fixed compatibility issue with the new A.04.07 release of Cerity. Two builds of the BTU Calculator are now required to support both A.04.05 and A.04.07 due to a change in the CerityPostRunData DLL between those versions. 3-17-2006 1.0.4 +Added an option to the configuration editor to set the number of decimal places for numeric values in the data file. -When settings files are loaded or saved, any existing report data is cleared. 3-2-2006 1.0.3 -Numeric data in the data file is now saved in a fixed format with up to 15 decimal places. 3-17-2005 1.0.2 +Added option to save data files using either comma or tab delimiter +Added Help button to Config and Manual Entry dialogs -Updated settings report -Component names no longer case sensitve 2-24-2005 1.0.1 +Added water settings to configuration dialog -Autosaved data file is now listed in report header +Added status bar -Created "trialware" distribution build -Application must be started already to auto-process Cerity data (fixes startup problems) 2-10-2005 1.0.0 +Initial release for testing. >>End of Readme<<
