The SUI and the ChemStation

When running the ChemStation by using the SUI, all the operator has to do to initiate an analysis is to press the correct button. They don't have to worry about loading or creating the proper sequence and the SUI will prompt them for the specific pieces of sample information that are required for the analysis.

System Security

The SUI is displayed as a "modal" dialog box in the ChemStation. This means that while the SUI is displayed, the operator will be unable to access any of the ChemStation's menus or buttons. This helps decrease the possibility that an operator will accidentally modify a method or sequence. For added security, there is also an option to require an administrator's password to exit the SUI and return to the ChemStation.

Each SUI button can also be configured so that a specific username and password must be entered in order to proceed.

The Sample Information Wizard

When the operator presses one of the SUI buttons that is designed to run a sequence, the Sample Information Wizard will collect the required parameters. Only those sample parameters that were selected in the configuration editor will be editable by the operator. This feature helps to reduce confusion and error since the operator knows exactly which parameters must be entered for each analysis.
